CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Governor Freudenthal says he hopes that legislation to prevent oil and gas drilling in the Wyoming Range will continue in Congress despite the death this week of Senator Craig Thomas.
Thomas had been set to introduce legislation possibly as soon as this week to limit oil and gas drilling in the Wyoming Range. Thomas had been suffering from leukemia and died Monday.
Freudenthal says that he believes it would be entirely appropriate for the state’s congressional delegation to continue to push the legislation.
Spokesmen for several environmental groups say they also hope that the legislation moves forward.
